Effect of Fake News on Social Media and Its Outcome

 

A piece of news or information that is not real and created to dupe and misleading people is called a piece of fake news. Most of the fake news consist of Videos or Images created using computer software other forms are inflammatory speech or article with wrong information and data. Fake news is created for presenting wrong information and for making people fool. There are various reasons people creating and spreading fake news. A political party, terrorist group, naxalists group mostly spread wrong and fake information to provoke gullible people. But sometimes it was done by notorious people just for fun. A common man without knowing the genuineness of information share the fake news and become the victim of the so-called fake news network.

 

Effect of Fake News:-

Most of the fake news comes from social sites or applications such as What's App, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. All the social networking sites and applications are used by most people in day-to-day life and they have to go through these kinds of fake news. Fake news has an adverse effect on everyone. Many people are influenced to believe in those facts that never happen in the real world and this led them to face some serious consequences. By the fake news political party try to influence the voter’s decision. Fake news is also used to divide people on the basis of the cast, race, and gender.

 

The Outcome of Fake News:-

Fake news can divide communities, groups, and lead to mob lynching. Sometimes fake news circulated to inflame the humans for fighting with each other on religious issues. The fake news is meant in a way to damage moral values, religion, or culture.  Thus fake news can be hazardous for our society and our moral values. Fake news may create civil war in any place. These are dangerous for the integrity of the country. Fake news can damage the image and goodwill of a country or government and lead to negative consequences. Fake news can be used to defame a person and it can destroy the life of a person.

 

Conclusion:-

Fake news is very dangerous for the country and the people and society. It has so many adverse effects on society as well as the culture. The government is trying to stop it by controlling the data limits and issuing social media policies on sharing of information. Social networking sites are also disseminating information to the users to understand what is fake news.
